We provided a dedicated team representing Invest Hong Kong in Thailand to actively identify and attract companies in target sectors with high potential for investing in Hong Kong.
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) is the department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government responsible for Foreign Direct Investment, supporting overseas companies in their investment efforts in Hong Kong.
InvestHK also provided free, customized services and consultancy to foreign companies and businesses looking to expand their operations or launch new ventures in Hong Kong.
Furthermore, Invest Hong Kong has a team of investment specialists organized into nine sector-focused teams covering Hong Kong’s major industries and emerging growth areas.

InvestHK had been responding to interest from Thai companies wishing to invest in the Special Administrative Region without a dedicated in-country team; however, management felt a dedicated team was necessary to maximize the potential for attracting investment from Thailand.
Project Launch
The project proceeded as follows to develop and implement a systematic investment promotion strategy to identify Thai companies with the highest potential for investing in Hong Kong.
• Working closely with InvestHK management to support existing relationships with Thai companies that had already contacted InvestHK regarding investment possibilities. A dedicated project team was formed.
• Information regarding investment in Hong Kong was provided by InvestHK’s sector teams to potential Thai investors. These investors were then introduced to appropriate professional firms—such as legal, tax, accounting, corporate secretarial, and real estate—that could provide dedicated startup support. Having a dedicated Thai team on the ground allowed this support to be provided much more in a timely manner than before.
• InvestHK’s objective was to identify and support investors interested not only in establishing a company in Hong Kong but also in hiring employees.
• Developed an objective, research-based methodology to identify high-potential Thai companies with the financial capacity to invest in Hong Kong and hire dedicated talent. The Tractus team’s lead generation strategy focused on all listed companies and majority Thai-owned private companies with annual revenues exceeding $5 million.
• Additionally, identified multiplier organizations to leverage in the company selection process. These multipliers included other Thai government agencies that promote Thai companies interested in outward investment to Hong Kong.
• The Tractus team participated in Thai trade fairs and expos, meeting with Thai companies in target sectors to raise awareness of Hong Kong as an investment destination and identify companies with the interest and capacity to invest.
What Tractus Achieved
We successfully developed existing investors, identified a pipeline of new investors with high potential for investing in Hong Kong, and increased awareness of Hong Kong as a high-performance investment destination and gateway to the Chinese market.
Additionally, the Tractus InvestHK team built a strong pipeline of potential investors by executing this multi-channel approach:
• Dedicated follow-up with existing contacts
• Participation in trade fairs and exhibitions
• Execution of a systematic, research-based investor identification process and direct meetings with the most promising investors
• Building a network of Thai government multiplier organizations to channel potential investment opportunities to InvestHK
• Attending and speaking at conferences and exhibitions regarding investment in Hong Kong to raise awareness of investment opportunities
